THE LONDON VERTIGO by Brian Friel

31st July-1st August 1998 - Crowthorne Parish Hall

Presented as a double bill with Bad Hair Day

Based on Charles Macklin's original 18th century play 'The True Born Irishman' or 'The Irish Fine Lady'.

Set in Dublin in 1761, the play deals with Mrs Diggerty, who has just returned from the coronation of King George III in London. The experience has quite gone to her head, and nothing in Dublin is good enough for her newly sophisticated tastes.

When she brings a London dandy, Count Mushroom, on to the scene, things have gone quite far enough. Her husband, the long-suffering Murrough O'Doherty, decides that she and Mushroom must be taught a lesson.
